Cookie Policy
This page lists every cookie and similar technology we use, what it is for, and how to turn off the ones that are not strictly necessary.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. It lets the site recognise your browser on the next request — which is how you stay logged in instead of re-entering your password on every page.
Alongside cookies, websites can use local storage: a place in your browser where data stays on your device and is not sent to the server with each request. We use both, and both are listed below.
2. Strictly necessary — always on
Without these the Site cannot work. They carry no advertising and build no profile, so they do not require consent.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
dg_sess |
Cookie, first-party | Keeps you signed in and links your requests to your session. Set only once you log in. | Up to 30 days, refreshed while you stay active |
| CSRF token | Inside the session | Protects forms — payment, account changes — from being submitted by another site on your behalf | For the session |
dg_lastInput_* |
Local storage, first-party | Remembers the birth date you last entered in a calculator, so the form is still filled in when you come back. Never sent to our server; one key per matrix type. | Until you clear your browser data |
You can remove the saved birth date at any time by clearing site data in your browser, or by clearing the form.
3. Analytics — optional
These tell us which pages people use and where they give up. They are not needed for the Site to function, and refusing them costs you nothing.
| Service | Identifier | Purpose | Where data goes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics 4 | G-GJWTVJCPBC | Visit statistics: pages viewed, traffic sources, approximate region, device type | Google — may include the United States |
| Yandex Metrica | 111181773 | Visit statistics and behaviour analysis on the page | Yandex — servers in the Russian Federation |
These services set their own cookies (Google uses names beginning _ga; Yandex uses
_ym_*) and keep them for up to about two years, depending on the cookie. Their handling
of that data is governed by their own privacy policies, not ours.
Being straightforward with you: at present these analytics scripts load when you open the Site. We are working on a consent banner so that in the EEA and the UK they only load after you agree. Until it is in place, you can block them with a browser setting, private browsing, or a content blocker, and the Site will work exactly as before. We would rather admit this than pretend otherwise.
4. What we do not use
- No advertising or retargeting cookies. We do not run ads and do not feed ad networks.
- No cross-site tracking pixels for marketing purposes.
- We do not sell or share cookie data with data brokers.
- We do not put your name or date of birth into a cookie.
5. How to refuse or delete cookies
Every major browser lets you view, delete, and block cookies for a specific site — usually under Settings → Privacy. Useful options:
- Block third-party cookies — stops most analytics without affecting your login.
- Clear site data for https://destiny.guru — removes everything, including the remembered birth date. You will be signed out.
- Google Analytics opt-out — Google offers a browser add-on that disables its measurement across all sites.
- Content blockers — most block both services listed above by default.
One caveat: blocking the strictly necessary cookie dg_sess makes it impossible to
stay logged in, so purchased readings will not open. Analytics can be blocked with no consequences
at all.
6. Changes
When we add or remove a cookie, we update this page and the effective date at the top. When the consent banner mentioned above goes live, this page will be rewritten to match.
